Intentions

Create a list of your intentions.

It’s easy to confuse your intentions with your goals and objectives. Separating your intentions from your goals will allow you to analyze the origins of your intentions and to better manage your goals and objectives.

To find your intentions, start by asking the following questions:

What are your intentions?

What do you want to accomplish?

What are your goals?

What are your objectives?

What would you like to see happen?

How to separate your intentions from your goals and objectives:

Step 1:  Examine your goals and objectives for intentions.

Step 2:  Objectives are the achievable steps that you take to reach your overall goal. Intentions do NOT have achievable steps.

Step 3:  Goals and objectives require action. Intentions do NOT require action.

Step 4:  The key here is to look for operational aspects.

Step 5:  List your goals and objectives in our Goals tool.

Step 6:  List your intentions in the space below.

Step 7:  Examine the origins of your intentions.
