Hotspots
Identify the relative strength of association between related solutions.
To analyze hotspots:
Step 1: Start with a large list of solutions that seem intriguing or interesting (regardless of viability).
Step 2: Sort them into clusters of related ideas; with each cluster being a ‘hotspot’.
Step 3: Analyze each ‘hotspot’ for the relative strength of association between the solutions.
Step 4: Do any of the ideas, in the ‘hotspot’, share unusual consequences?
Step 5: Do any of the ideas share unusual connections?
Step 6: Do any of the ideas share unusual implications?
Step 7: Create a short-list by using the ‘hotspot’ or ‘hotspots’ that best suit your needs.
